This signals a shift toward platforms that lower the cost of early detection, scale personalized care, and generate continuous datasets.

But the opportunity also brings challenges, like turning fragmented data into reliable, privacy-first, and truly personalized health intelligence that both consumers and clinicians can actually trust and use.

🔎 Connecting the Dots

Personally, I think we’re on the edge of a much-needed reset. We've spent years collecting health data without really knowing what to do with it. But now, tools are finally catching up and turning that noise into actionable insights.

The possibility of being more in sync with our own biology is truly exciting. Less guessing. More knowing. And maybe, finally, a healthcare system that’s built around people.

Yesterday’s blackout forced an unexpected reset.

No electricity, no internet, just silence, slowness, and a rare chance to step back from the usual flood of information. I spent the day outside, writing and reading, a kind of disconnection that, ironically, made me feel more connected.

Losing power yesterday reminded me of how much we rely on things we barely notice until they’re gone. When everything’s working, we don’t think about it. It's only when the lights go out that we realize how dependent we really are.

Health is the same.

We go through life assuming it’s there, quietly keeping us going. But when something goes wrong, everything else stops. And unlike a blackout, sometimes there’s no easy way to turn it back on. The damage is invisible until it’s too late.

That’s why I’m so excited about the big shift happening in health right now!

We’re moving from a reactive system to a proactive one. From waiting for problems to show up, to designing environments and tools that help us stay ahead. Prevention, brain health programs, AI diagnostics, high-tech wellness spaces, they’re no longer abstract ideas. They’re becoming part of our everyday lives.

And this shift isn’t just personal. It’s collective.

That’s what I see reflected in this year’s Netherlands Pavilion for Expo 2025 by RAU architects in Osaka.

According to scientific research, the traditional "dog years" formula is a myth - dogs actually age faster when young and slower when old.

Loyal has developed an "aging clock" that can accurately measure and compare the aging rates of different dog breeds. Interestingly, larger dog breeds generally have shorter lifespans than smaller breeds. This is because selective breeding has accidentally caused growth issues that lead to faster aging in bigger dogs. Loyal is working to "make the metabolism of a big dog look more like that of a small dog," aiming to slow down the aging process.

Recently, Loyal secured $45 million in funding to accelerate the development of their dog life-extension drugs. This new capital was the last puzzle piece to ensure they could bring LOY-001, the first FDA-approved lifespan extension drug to market in 2025. This got me thinking a lot about how much our genes influence living long, healthy lives. I have always assumed that if my grandparents lived to be 100, I must have inherited good longevity genes too but it turns out that we have more control over our lifespan than we might realize.

AthenaDAO has just released a report focusing on the critical yet overlooked issue of gynecological cancers.

This report reveals a profound reality: Despite cancer being the most funded area of biomedical research, gynecological cancers have been left behind. These cancers are often diagnosed at later stages due to the absence of effective screening tests leading to limited survival rates, and removing organs such as the uterus and/or ovaries, impacting women's bodies and reproductive health.
